Emission Measurements

Emissions are air pollutants emitted by flue-gas through the combustion of fuel products, synthesis, decomposition, evaporation.

Emission Source refers the source of the emission emitted from chimney-derived or outside of the chimney to the atmosphere.

Waste gases means gaseous emissions in the form of solid, liquid or gas.

What are the facilities that emit pollutants outside of the chimney?

• Crude Oil and Fuel Oil Filling and Storage Facilities,
• Gas Filling and Storage Facilities,
• Facilities in which organic chemical substances (solvents, aldehydes, aromatics, amines, ketones, acids, esters, acetates, ethers, etc.) are stored,
• Quarrying & Crushing Facilities.

According to which regulations will the emissions be assessed?
The measurement and evaluation of emissions of smoke, dust, gas, steam and aerosol emitted from the end of the operation of industrial and power generation facilities to the atmosphere is subject to the Control of Industrial Air Pollution Regulation in Turkey.

What is the relationship between the Emission Measure and the Environmental Permission and Licensing Regulations?

Enterprises subject to the Environmental Permit and Licensing Regulations should make measurements through the laboratory authorized by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization according to the emission parameters of the sector in accordance with the Regulation on the Control of Industrial Air Pollution with respect to the air pollutants they possess. Measurements should be repeated every two years if there is no change in the process.

Who can measure emissions?
TÜRKAK accreditation and Ministry authority are sought in the laboratory to be measured. In addition, there is a requirement that the personnel to be measured should be certified by attending the training given by the Ministry.
